Today I was judging high school students who pitch for Start Young to Innovate. One of the finalist groups present about a very technical product, eco solar water heater. And this kid caught my attention.

The moment he speaks, I knew he’s different. He was very entertaining. But I can tell, from his body language, that he’s not into this.

After lunch, I ask him to sit beside me.

“Tell me, what make you come today?” He was surprised to hear my question but I smiled so he answer honestly.

He said he was asked to help his friend with their presentation because they’re worried it’s going to be conducted in English.

“So you have a great English?” I said.
“Well, that’s too much compliment.” He said in elegant princess voice.

I continue with my question. Clearly, he’s not into technical thing.

“What do you like then?”
“Art.”
“Like what?”
“Drawing.”

I asked him to show me one of his illustration. It’s abstract. Full of Fantasy. His imagination is wild.

“One more thing before I let you go: what is your life philosophy?”

He said, “I might hate your opinion, but I will give all my life to make sure you have the freedom to express your opinion.”

*jaw dropped*

He giggled, “Voltaire.”
