“If I can teach you anything, what do you want to learn most from me?”
I asked this question on Facebook and Twitter, and I got various answers. Some are things that I never thought of:
- Managing energy
- The spirit to grow
- How to commit in writing
- How to speak English
- How to be a good writer
- How to be busy but look cool
- Business skill
- Fashion and grace
- How to build startup
- How to be awesome
- Women entrepreneurship. How to start, framework, and mentoring
- Startup, web develop and ethos
- How to struggle
- Fashion, dress, hijab and make-up
I’m grateful and fascinated with the answers. It’s of course confirming of what my passion and skills are.
So, if you have no idea what’s your passion and skill, you might want to ask this question to your friends, you’ll know instantly what you’re good at and what you love doing

I was in a networking event in Singapore. The room was packed with smart people in technology. I manage to chat with a lot of people from around the world. Then I excuse myself to grab a drink.
I walked back to the room, holding a cold coke in my right hand, and stop in the center of the room. Just decided to stand there, sipping my coke, watching people talking in groups.
Tasneem, scream out my name from across the room, “OLLIE! COME here! What are you doing there??”
From her face, I can see how worried she was if I don’t belong in any group. I was walking to her group, just because she made the effort. Otherwise I would just stay there standing alone with myself.
I’m very comfortable being alone that not many people understand it. I’m not standing on the side, I was standing in the center. I’m ok.
Last night I did that again in Jakarta’s event. The room was packed with a lot of important women in social works field. This time, some of them know me, so if I was just standing there, people would have just come to me and talk without I have to make an effort to get someone to talk to.
The networking event outside your circle is always the toughest. But it’s good to see it as a game and social experiment. That way, you won’t feel intimidated.
If you read this, please spend a minute to think of me, picture me in your mind smiling, and please pour out love and positive thoughts to me, until you can see black dusts of negativity getting off of me.
Life is simple. It’s all about loving self and others. People don’t know how lucky they are and choose to complicate their own life.
